Summer program: Applicants to the summer program must demonstrate solid intermediate scores (Level 1+ scores in at least 2 modalities on the ILR or ACTFL scale based on oral interviews and online testing, and no less than Level 1 in the other two modalities).
Academic-year capstone program: Applicants to the academic-year capstone program must demonstrate Level 2 in 3 out of 4 modalities on the ILR or ACTFL scale based on oral interviews, and online testing (and no less than 1+ in the other).
The program is only open to domestic Flagship students at Indiana University-Bloomington. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents. Heritage speakers of Swahili are eligible to apply, too.
