The Language Flagship

The Language Flagship leads the nation in designing, supporting, and implementing a new paradigm for advanced language education...

The Summer Arabic Overseas Flagship Program for Undergraduates is located at the Arab American Language Institute in Morocco (AALIM), in Meknes, Morocco. This program is intended as a logical step while participating in the Stateside Undergraduate Arabic Flagship Program and achieving a proficiency level of 1+ on the ILR scale. Students achieving this level may participate in the Summer overseas program.

The Arabic Overseas Flagship Program for Undergraduates began in June 2008. The capstone year-long Overseas Flagship Program is located in Meknes, Morocco on the grounds of the Arab American Language Institute in Morocco.  In the fall and spring semesters, participants take direct enrollment courses at Moulay Ismail University and intern with local organizations.

This program is intended as a logical step after participating in the Stateside Undergraduate Arabic Flagship Program and achieving a proficiency level of 2/2+ on the ILR scale.
