Undergraduate Program
New Initiatives for Advanced-Level Intensive Training in Arabic
This U.S.-based intensive language program in Arabic is intended to assist qualified students in attaining functional proficiencies in Arabic at the Intermediate-Mid/Intermediate-High levels in two or more skills through participation in enhanced, intensified coursework on U. S. campuses. The program is intended for all undergraduate students, (majors and non-majors in Arabic) and heritage speakers of Arabic.
Undergraduates of the Stateside Arabic Flagship Program will be eligible to apply for the summer or the one year Overseas Arabic Flagship Program in Alexandria, Egypt. The study abroad summer or one academic year is designed to prepare participants to reach the Advanced level of language proficiency in Arabic.
The summer and / or the one year long overseas component of the Program will be administered by American Councils and a Consortium of five Flagship Centers. Students interested in the Program should send application materials to American Councils and to one of the following Flagship Centers of their choice:

Prior to the start of the Program, each participant will take part in extensive individual online Arabic Language Pre-Program Exam which will inform the development of a customized learning plan. Please note that the writing portion of the exam will be completed during the online exam, and must be typed on an Arabic-enabled keyboard.
All Flagship participants will then be enrolled in coursework relevant to program goals that is tailored to suit their own individual interests.
